Gender-Bread (Contains Adult Material)

Hello, foodies!

It's Scott here, and today I want to share my latest culinary creation with you - Gender-bread.

This recipe is a twist on the classic gingerbread, with a few added ingredients to make it unique. But the real secret ingredient is the message behind it.

For me, Gender-bread represents the idea that everyone is different, and that's something to be celebrated. The different shapes and sizes of the cookies represent the diversity of humanity, and the rainbow-coloured icing is a nod to the LGBTQ+ community.

Creating the recipe was a labour of love, and I put a lot of thought and care into each step of the process. I wanted to make sure that every aspect of the recipe reflected the values of inclusivity and acceptance.

Here is the recipe for my Gender-bread cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food colouring (optional)
  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to #180C* and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. If desired, divide the dough into different bowls and add food colouring to create a variety of colours.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of #1/4 inch. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  8. Transfer the cookies to the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle rainbow sprinkles over the top of each cookie (if desired).
  9. Bake for #8-#10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly browned.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before decorating with icing.

To create the icing, simply mix powdered sugar with a small amount of milk until a thick paste forms.

Divide the icing into bowls and add food colouring to create a variety of colours. Use a piping bag to decorate the cookies with the icing.

I hope you enjoy making and sharing these Gender-bread cookies with your friends and loved ones. Remember, everyone is different, and that's something to celebrate.

That's all for today's blog.

I hope my recipe and musings on the creation of the perfect Gender-bread have been inspiring and delicious.

Until next time,

Scott
