Vape: E-Liquid Guide

There are only two types of juice to concern yourself with nowadays: Homemade and pre-made Short Fills.

Before making homemade juice it’s best to figure out what formula you prefer vaping. Once you know this you can attempt to replicate it yourself when you make your own. Until then enjoy buying and vaping pre-made Short Fills.

Juice comprises three components. VG/PG Base mix, Flavour Concentrate and Nicotine Liquid.

VG/PG Base Mix
VG/ PG Base mix comes in a percentage of VG and PG.Vegetable Glycerine / Propylene Glycol.VG = Cloud and PG = Throat Hit.
(The higher the PG the greater the throat hit you will get and the higher the VG the more cloud you create when vaping. I find 70/30 to be a good mix but also buy nice flavours of 60/40.)

Flavour Concentrate
This is what gives your juice its flavour.

Nicotine
This is what x-smokers are after, the nicotine. Once you swap from cigarettes to vaping you are swapping your nicotine consumption from actual smoke to vapour. There are two types of nicotine liquid on the market now. Normal, or nic-shots, and the nicotine salt variety, or nic-salts. Nic-Salts are used for providing a quick hit nicotine experience that is similar to what you get from smoking actual cigarettes. Either nic-salts or nic-shots are sold in 10ml bottles and are 18mg in strength. (This is because of new laws that have not long been introduced.)

Quite simply, you can dilute your juice to turn your end product into 3 mg strength or 6 mg strength all the way up to 18 mg of strength. But - above 6 mg of strength things get complicated. The choice is yours but the stronger your mixed strength the more expensive it gets - because you’ll need more nic-shots. For an x-smoker then it’s probably best to start off at 6 mg.

Short Fills
Basically, Short Fills are bottles of pre-made juice that just needs nicotine adding to it.
You can buy short fills in varying amounts. From 25 ml up to 200 ml.
If you buy a 25 ml short fill then you get 25 ml of juice in a 35 ml bottle. This gives you room to add a single nic-shot to create your juice.
For a 50 ml then you get 50 ml of juice in a 60 ml bottle.
100 ml then you get 100 ml of juice in a 120 ml bottle, and;
200 ml, you get 200 ml of juice in a 240 ml bottle.
If you buy 500 ml of juice then you will normally need your own bottles to decant the liquid in and then add your own nic-shots to it to create your final product. So keep your empty bottles as when you find a flavour you really like - you can buy bigger bottles and save money then create your own littler bottles for using to fill your vapourisers with.

Finally - Short Fill and Nicotine...
If you add 1 x 10 ml nic-shot to 100 ml of juice you will end up with a strength of 3 mg.
If you add 2 x 10 ml nic shots to your 100 ml of juice you will get the strength of 6 mg.
