The Chicago Cubs are a professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's National League. The team was founded in 1876 and is one of the oldest franchises in all of professional sports.

The Cubs have won three World Series championships in their history, the first in 1907 and the second in 1908. They had to wait over a century for their next championship, which came in 2016 when they defeated the Cleveland Indians in a dramatic seven-game series.
