It is not surprising, therefore, that the most commonly used system of measurement for dry goods is the metric system, which uses grams and kilograms.
In this system, #1 ounce is equivalent to approximately #28.3495 grams, so, #28 grams.
Personally, I love metric as it's what I learned from college onwards as part of my catering training.
But it is helpful to have an understanding of both as when scouring the internet for recipes you'll find great sources of data in all manner of measurement systems. A favourite of mine being Spoons and Cups, although - it annoys me having to convert between UK and USA cups, but that's where Alexa or Google come into there own and save the day.
